Kansas City Chiefs State They Are Aware of Domestic Violence Claims Involving Player Rashee Rice
The NFL franchise issued a statement Wednesday night stating they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations circulated in online accounts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver Rashee Rice and had been in communication with the NFL.
The organization did not mention the player specifically in their statement and said they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name Rice by name, shared a set of images on Instagram that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. Jones did say the individual in question was the father of her children, and it is known she has kids with the football player, whom the Chiefs selected in the second round.

No police reports were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the incident is said to have occurred.
Player's Recent Legal Issues
Rice missed the first six games of this NFL campaign due to an league-mandated ban for his role in instigating a crash on a Texas roadway that left several individuals injured. He was given a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to serious offenses.
On the field, he finished the season with 53 catches for 571 yards and five TDs as the Kansas City went 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
