On Monday, the court learned communication data and evidence obtained from phones recorded Ms Wandelt consistently requesting Madeleine's mother for a genetic test over 2023 and 2024.

Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - when she was three years old during a family holiday in Portugal - is among the most publicized missing child cases and is still unsolved.

'I Do Not Need Money'

A separate phone message, played in court, captured Ms Wandelt declaring: "I know I'm fat and plain like Madeleine used to be, but I feel what I feel."

While a separate message of Ms Wandelt's one-way conversations with Mrs McCann's recording said: "What if there is a tiny probability that I'm her? What then? Isn't that crucial for you?"

"I don't want money, I possess a life here in Poland, I only wish to discover," the recording stated.

The panel was informed that by means of electronic messages, text messages and calls, Ms Wandelt requested a DNA test, transmitted early photographs to her phone in a bid to show a likeness to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and asserted to have "flashbacks" from a early life with the McCanns.

An intelligence analyst, a data specialist with Leicestershire Police who compiled the data, told the court there "seemed to lack any answers" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also reached out to acquaintances of the McCanns, as per the call data.

On that date, the father picked up a call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, saying she had "a wrong number."

On that occasion Ms Wandelt recorded a recording on Mrs McCann's recording saying "I will continue and I plan to establish my position."

The court heard Mrs Spragg developed a association through digital means with Ms Wandelt preceding joining her on a visit to the McCanns' home in that area in that winter.

Phone records revealed Mrs Spragg had reached out using communication app to Mrs McCann to say the media had depicted Ms Wandelt as "mentally unstable" but that she should be considered genuine in the months leading up to the trip to the village, Leicestershire, in last December.

The court learned communications between the two accused, in November 2024, considering attempting to obtain Mrs McCann's biological evidence from her trash or from utensils at a restaurant.

"We have to make a stand," the co-defendant informed Ms Wandelt.

On the occasion of the visit to their house, the defendant transmitted a message which stated: "We're currently sat adjacent to the McCanns' home with our lights out resembling private investigators. I had hoped to do this with someone else I didn't imagine I would be engaged in this with the McCanns."

The case ongoing.
